Quick Turbocad Question!
Hi. How do I edit a line that I have drawn in Turbocad?
Let's say I have a line and I want to delete part of it, like 1" off of the end. How do I do that? I am only able to select the entire line, not just the area I want to delete. I tried adding more nodes and then tried deleting the line segment between the new nodes but that doesn't work either.
Thanks for any help. I'm pulling my hair out over this.

Explode! Thanks Edwin. I knew there was a command, but I had no idea what CAD terminology to look for. I was looking for things like "divide," "cut," "slice," "edit, " or "split." I would have never intuitively thought of the word "explode" when trying to modify one line into two segments. But, I can sort of see it now. Maybe the term comes from the concept of "exploded views."
The hardest part of any graphics software I have ever used is learning the terminology for different actions. It rarely coincides with the words that I have in mind.
Thanks!

RE: Quick Turbocad Question!
I often draw a couple of temporary lines across the line I want to cut, -------------/----/------------,
then I use the trim command to remove the section between the two lines, ----------------/ /-------------------,
then I remove the temporary lines, ----------------- --------------------.
(Sorry, the messaging system is removing the extra spaces I put in.)
(Whoops, I'm thinking AutoCAD. TurboCad must have a trim command too. No?)

There's the option of adding nodes and exploding the line segments as mentioned or you can trim using cut lines as mentioned but the easiest and most dirext way is to use the "Split Entity" tool. It's one of the flyout buttons along with the Trim button. When you use the Split tool you can snap where the split goes and then alter the size of the one part to where you want it to be using the node edit or size edit

Thanks everyone. These suggestions have been a big help.
I'm using that old free version of TurboCAD LE 4.1 and the help files are too brief.

Gotta concur with BMathews. I used the free version for awhile and managed to grab version 6 from work since I upgraded to whatever we're at now. We just use it to bang out quick boxes and stuff for board testers. Of course its obvious what "I" use it for at home. So much more capability for cheap.
