1/16 28" p-40 warhawk
i'm building a guillows p-40 as a park flyer. i have micro electronics to use w/ a micro piezo gyro for some more stability. i'm hoping the gyro will take the instability away from a small low wing plane. neway i was looking for a clean way to make hinges for the control surfaces. the ailerons are thick enough to use fiberglass strips but the rudder and elevators are only 3/32 thick and i was thinking about a safe way to make hinges. i could remove enough material to make the hinges flush maybe? also has anyone tried a smaller scale guillows before and had gotten fair results.
i'm planning on keeping the battery pack in the position it is in. it looks like i'll be able to strap it there safely but is it too high? low wing and a high cg could make for a sketchy ride. i'm also planning on adding a balsa plate to mount the rudder and elevator servo's behind the battery. i'm hoping the cg between the battery being back will counter the motor assembly.
i'm looking for as many tips as i can get. thanks
ian

Surf on over to www.rcgroups.com and browse around in the scale section of the electrics forum. Do a search for "guillows" and you will find many threads by folks who have successfully converted the guillows kits to r/c.
