RE: spray adhesive?
Instead of spray try using double sided Sellotape/ Scotch tape (the type with backing paper is best). Only small pieces of tape, say half inch long, in 4 or 6 places works well and is easier to remove.
This tape can also be used to fix 2 pieces of wood together to cut two identical parts such as fuselage sides etc. Again only use a few pieces of tape otherwise it is difficult to separate.

There is also a Post It glue stick available. I've used that before and it works great. But besure to apply it and leave to "dry" for about 5 minutes first. Otherwise it can stick well enough that it tears the paper when you try to remove it. It seems to resist wood dust well enough that it'll stick nicely a few times before it becomes too "dry".
