DXF into plans!
Hi All,
I have a DXF file of an aircraft - i have GMAX as the viewer and would like to convert the DXF into a set of useable plans - basically i need to know how to take cross sections of the wing (from root to tip) in order to make ribs. I want to do a similar thing with the fuselage, tail etc.
Is this program able to give me cross-section printouts of this aircraft at regular intervals which i can then cut ribs, fuse formers etc.
Thanks

RE: DXF into plans!
It's a 3D CAD file - it has about 20-30 objects in it (you can select different parts - ailerons, body and wing, engine cones, engine cowls etc).
If i can take cross sections, i can basically create a set of plans from it.

RE: DXF into plans!
I don't unfortunately - cost is the big problem there.
I have GMAX - which i think is a type of CAD program that people use to make flight simulator aircraft etc. Will that do?
