Sheeting
Hi all,
i am building my first sheeted wing and fuselage. i knlw that most people use balsa sheet but can you use ply/lite-oly? just in the thinner thicknesses or is it not desireable to do so? I am hoping to save a bit of weight and don't think thin ply can be as heavy as 2/3mm balsa. It is for a 81 inch DO 335. Thanks in advance.

RE: Sheeting
I weighed a piece iof 1/64th inch plywood off the shelf and ran the density calculation. I got 58.63 pounds per cubic foot. Probably not a totally precise test, but when 4-6 pound balsa is readily available, seems hard to justify 50+ pound wood.
