Does anyone know the source for plans by Henry Haffky? In particular the Art Chester Jeep.

Have you talked to Bob Holman in San Bernardino? Was a special issue of RCM back a good twenty years ago on air racers. Bob was listed then as source for many of the plans presented. The Jeep was not covered, but Chester was.

Henry Haffke's Chester Jeep was published in the January, 1976, issue of "R/C/ Sportsman". 53" span, for .19-.35 engine. I have that issue and have scans of the 2-page article. The plans, unfortunately, are full-size and on paper too fragile to have copied or scanned; I do, however, have a photo I could pass on. I've seen plans on eBay, but the ones on there now are for a larger model from RCM, not Haffke's. AMA plan service lists plans (as 54" span) at http://www.modelaircraft.org/plansall/c-plans.pdf but in the price column says "CALL".

I believe this kit is a reissue of an old Jeep kit. I'm not sure but you could contact them and find out if it is what you are looking for. They might sell the plans separately.

Check with Rich Uravitch (do a Google search). If I remember correctly, he had a short kit that could use either glow or electric. Rich's prices for kits and plastic are not that bad either and the wood and plastic is of above average quality.

Henry Hafke's 52 inch Art Chester Jeep was also published in the March 1979 issue of the English [link=http://www. modelflying.co.uk]Radio Control Models And Electronics [/link] (RCME ) Plan No is RC1361 and I have the magazine with instructions but the plan is reproduced very small.
The publisher was MAP which became Nexus and then Highbury, now it is called Encanta Media. Address is Orpington.Kent, England.
There is also a 36 inch semi scale Jeep called Cheap Jeep. Design is by Dereck Woodwardand plan MW2745 is still avail from [link=http://www.traplet.com]Traplet[/link] in England. Like most of Dereck's designs it is simple to build and designed to fly well and just looks like a Jeep and not really scale.

I'm pretty sure the Jeep showed up in one of the mainstream mags as well. I don't remember which one but I remember the article and I didn't get RCSportsman. But it may have been the British one since I used to get those now and then.
