Has anyone built a Curtis Hawk P6-e?
I bought a set of Wyndall Hostettler plans for his 84" Curtis Hawk. After looking them over I am not very happy with the design. He is using one solid sheet of 3/8" balsa for the horizontal and vertical stab....the top wing has 1deg POSITIVE incidence while the bottom wing has 1 deg NEG. incidence.
Has anyone built this plane? If so, did you modify the plans any and how did it fly (+ what engine did you put in it).
Thanks!

While I haven't built any of WH's plans, I have owned and still own several, and I've noticed he often overbuilds his designs. His 29% Gee bee Z was a LOT better, but his older designs definitely could use some lightening work. The full length sheeted sides come to mind.
There is no reason you couldn't modify the tail feathers to a sheeted design, with a bit of carbon fiber to keep it strong.
