RE: 200% size slow poke
More progress on the wing tonight!
I cut and glued the mounting plates for the gear and the the wing pin tonight, the wing wing center section is approching 3lbs. The weight is mainly from the hardware and plywood for the gear and wing joiners. The landing gear will be 1/4" wire.
Take care all!

UPDATE TIME FRIENDS!
Sorry for the long delays in the posting process fellow slow pokers! I am finally back on the project and rounding the corner to the home strech. The wing is almost complete and notched into the fuse. Here are some pics of the progress.

I have to say that she looks impressive. And I see that cancelling your internet account wasn't enough to pay for the covering material yet.....

Crazy,
Did you give up on the Slow Poke project?
Also, I like the PVC pipe clamps (I think!) could you please post close up photo...?

The pvc clamps are cake.
Slice two inch pvc to 2.5" lengths
slice into the 2.5" with a band saw or hack saw
with the slice at six o clock, drill a 3/16" hole at 2 and 10 o clock
stick two screw drivers in the holes to open and sqeeze away!

RE: 200% size slow poke
OK friends. All controls are hooked up and working, Here are the last pics you will see before final sand and covering. I did not mount the engine because I am still not sure if I am going to go with a 100cc twin for balance issues. I did not screw in the outer wing panels so they are not tight in place. They are tight and smooth when fastened. Next step is to fill, sand, fill, sand, fit and monokote. I will post pics of that
Thanks all

RE: 200% size slow poke
nice project you have there..you picked the right one, looks great...if you leave it togeather and just strap it to the mini van, you could do touch and goes on the way to the field...if you look back 80 years bernie pietenpo used cotton sheets to cover his first homebuit..and that was before king size beds
your never lost in a cloulds, just site seeing

Here are some pics of my progress. I installed LED lights in the wing for added fun.
