Foam wing attachment
So im sure this has been posted a million times, but im going to ask anyways!! What methods do you guys use to hard mount things to foam wings. What I am specifically after is a way to attach a balsa covered foam wing (1 piece wing a.k.a. no joiner tube as that would be too easy...) to a fuselage. Is there a tried and true way to embed hardwood dowels? Or maybe some other exotic form of attachment? Thanks!!

RE: Foam wing attachment
Another method that was used on a plane that I built was to use 1/4 inch inside diameter fiberglass arrow shafts.
1. Drill a hole in the balsa sheeting and foam that is smaller than the arrow shaft. Then use sandpaper on a dowel to get the hole to the correct size.
2. Rough up the surface of the arrowshaft with sandpaper.
3. Glue the arrowshaft in place with epoxy or poly glue.
That will give a nice solid, crush-proof hold-down that also acts as a drill guide for drilling the hole on the fuselage side. If this method works on a Flying Machine, it should work on most applications.
