1/6 Fieseler Storch 156 C HELP
Hello !
My brother and I are in process of building a 1/6 scale 93" span Fieseler Storch 156 C from an old Elite plan. I was wondering if the community could provide us help with finding a supplier for the cowl. I also have issues with building the canopy and the leading edge slats. Does anybody have links, pics, sources, suggestions or advice regarding these items for our project ? Anything offered would be greatly appreciated. It is our first scratch built scale project.
Thanks !
Mark

RE: 1/6 Fieseler Storch 156 C HELP
Well I am building one from those plans, Bob Holmans, and Ed Newmans. Nowhere have I seen the option for a cowl. Personally I am not worried about it, I plan on mine only coming off on the bottom as I am going electric and want to be able to remove my lipolys.
The window frame on the Elite set of plans sucks. Simply put, it stinks. Of the sets I have seen, Eds plans show that the best. I have modified Holmans plans with some of the good stuff from the Elite plans, and used mostly reduced Newmans plan sized down to 1:6 scale. The Elite plans are off on the scale size or I got a modified set. I haven't gotten to the leading edge yet, the Elite way sounds sucky, so does Holmans and Newmans ways. Might need to come up with something new for that. Nobody has a true scale wing.....it has to fly too I guess. The fuse sizes are not the same either, so one of them is not right. Wing lengths at the reduction are almost exactly the same, so something is wierd with the fuse on one of them. Will have to get stats and check length of real to reduction.
Frankly, I think Ed values his plans too much. I wouldn't buy from him again at his prices.

RE: 1/6 Fieseler Storch 156 C HELP
oops. my bad.
just looked at bob's website under dennis bryant. he has a the cowl for 35.00, laser cut parts 150.00, materials package inclusive of a custom made landing gear set - 510.00 plus 25.00 to ship it. this i think would be considerably less time consuming and a real convenient way to go for this particular project. i think maybe we should have chosen a less complicated plan for our first.
