Default Brakes for a "regular size" airplane.

In the .25-60 range. I have seen a brake that had been made by Dubro in the past, but it's no longer available. Have you guys ever scratched one up or do you have any pictures of one? I wouldn't mind drawing something up and sharing it if all I get is pictures. The one I saw simply pushed a metal tab down on the wheel. That would work, but probably wouldn't do all that well on retracts! Any info you fellas can share would be very appreciated.

sonic systems made a disc brake air operated that I installed on my jhh f9f cougar so that I could let the fan hit max rpm before starting the take off roll to cut down the distance.worked well.check with the jet guys as someone should be making a version of it.

feihu, that's it! A DIY version of the Dubro version. Did you draw that?

ptulmer:

I ordered a set of wheels/brakes (2.4" diameter, air operated) from these guys:

Kinda pricey, but if you need brakes for a performance or safety issue, it's worth it. I got the Trim Aircraft ones, which were $157 plus about $9 shipping.

I needed them because I have a high performance prop in the nose jet (F-4) and I fly it off a paved runway that's only 350' long.
