I'm starting to build this also, going for 144-150" span. Electric pusher, 1 dome camera up front 360ºx180º and a still digital camera mounted inside the fuse directly behind it facing straight down. 2 video tx's and a a data link for telemetry.

Specificly, not very much.
I've been buying pieces for the project for the last year or so, and had been debating for the longest time weather to go EDF with a global hawk, or pusher with the predator b.
Due to the insane power demands of the EDF version, the flight time would be severely limited, even with 20,000mAh of Lipos onboard.
I havnt decided on the motor or prop yet, and dont plan on deciding untill I have the weight of the aircraft. tho, im aiming at at around 30-40lbs.

One things for sure, ill be going "scale-like" rather than scale
the wings specificly will be scale looking, but not accurate. airfoil is being designed to carry the weight of the aircraft fully loaded, easily at 30mph for slow and steady photography.
I have to run out for a while rite now, but if you have anything specific youde like to ask, feel free I just have a hard time describing things in general unless asked directly for a piece of information.

what construction method will you be using? balsa foam?
do you have plans?
I have been working on plans for a 160" span model which I believe I can build under 17lbs
there is a guy that built a u-2 which has a similar to the predator. It has a 95" ws and weighs under 7 lbs i think you could build it significantly lighter unless you are putting alot of electronics on it.

Wings will be foam core glass skin, fuse is multiple fiberglass molds, and there will be quite a bit of electronics in her. not working from plans. Its also going to be carrying a sony HDV video camera on demand so it needs to have another 4-5 lbs flexability

retracts, flaps, lights, and a harness to use model rocket engines for assisted takeoff's, so i wont have to tax the power system getting it to altitude.(signifigant testing on this one to do)

None as of yet, unless you want to see pictures of the workbench and tools I had to buy/build to work on this project and some random batteries and electronics and camera equipment
I _Just_ decided to go with the Predator B recently, and have not started the plug/mold yet.

As soon as I start making the plugs and molds for the glass I'll start a build thread either here or on RCG. should be within the next month or so. I'll be posting pictures very frequently, along with asking for some advice here and there

Good to see others making a predator too. Mine is a 14' wingspan about 1/5 scale. Go to Diydrones.com to see the build. good luck with your project.

I got caught up building another plane for rech use while I build up the parts I need for the predator. I'll get to it, unfortunately its looking like later rather than sooner

Yes I have the cad files but I have gone from a built up design to making a plug for molding. Also I must ask what you're intentions are for the cad files. I noticed you are a retailer.

Yes I have a company that cut laser short kits if you need something let me know, but in this case I want one for me and I would like to make one something like 80" WS, if I can not get a CAD files I can make my own but it will take me sometime and is better if someone has the lans and I can modify those.
Thanks

Cool beans just clarifying. Didnt want you to run off with my design and start producing kits. I have the cad files for my 3rd attempt at it but they are not completely finished. I haven't started on a wing suggestions would be appreciated.

Mason!! Where's the progress? You still stuck on the wings? You can copy mine if you'd like, I'd just have to scale them down a bit. Let me know...
