FW's are pretty easy to come by. [link=http://www.daveplattmodels.com/Short%20Kits/index.htm]Dave Platt[/link] has a nice one. Also [link=http://www.meister-scale.com/]Meister[/link] does both the Dora and the Anton. I've heard good things about both.

RE: FW 190 plans source
Thanks all,
As is S.O.P. for me these days and I'm sure, many others, time is short to devote to things I want to do as opposed to things I have to do.... Pardon me, but a bit of laziness on my part to ask of others for info...
All the names mentioned are quite familiar, however have slipped my mind until a bit of welcome jogging.
My plan is to find a suitable (for me), size project for the fast approaching wretched cold building season. I have not built from plans for a number of years and miss it so.
Thanks again, any more suggestins would be welcome

I understand totally! I've heard a ton of good things about Meister. Platt of course is the best of the best for scale purposes. I've heard Meister builds easy and flys great. Sacrifice is a few scale details that most of the folks at the local field would never miss. I've kicked around which to do myself. I'm leaning a bit toward the Meister at this point.
Did you catch the video of the Dora on the Meister site? It's pretty awesome.
Here is a link [link=http://www.tompierce.net/190/html/building.htm]Building the JDM Focke[/link] you may find intersting. I've been watching the progress. This guy is building a great plane.

I rather fancy the earlier versions, before the long nose and wings. I modeled another Kurt Tank design, the FW-56 Stosser, in 1/4 scale, some years back. I donated that to the Rhinebeck Aerodrome museum in 2002 and have not built strictly from plans since.(no more parasol wings for me thanks)
It seems to me the trend in the magazines has been leaning to American and allied fighters latley, thats fine dont get me wrong, its nice to see them but my tastes have always been a bit off the mainstream and for some reason tend to gravitate to German aircraft.
Thanks again

The Meister 190 does build easy and fast. The only problem is the landing gear. Its hard to get a scale gear into the wing and keep it in the scale location. I solved that by drawing a new wing for the plane that is thicker and also allows a scale gear and a more scale wheel to be fully enclosed in the wing. If you ever decide to build the Meister I have a DVD of the 190-D and 190-A that is about 4.5 hours long each and shows the total build of the planes....

Sean,
I use to build all of Meister's prototypes. I even did the redesign from the D-9 to the A model..I use to be there go to guy with questions so I did Videos that answer them. The video Covers all the basic Construction and alot of building tips...

Ty,
Cool! I've waffled around building the 109 or the 190. It would be my first big scale but I do have scratch building experience. Any thoughts on which would be the best for a first timer? My preference is the 109.
Where can I get those DVDs???

If you're kit bashing or building from scratch, then follow this link to factory blueprints - the attached show the some of what is on offer. If you can read aircraft blueprints you'll be able to build to any scale including 1:1.
