Default What plane is this????

This plane was given to me. I have been fixing it up for the past week. I flew it today and it was a lot of fun. I like it so much....I would like to figure out what it is and find the plans for it. My buddy said it is the Observer? I have found no info on that yet.

Look like a Cesna Bird dog...but the rudder is squared off. Then I thought maybe a Luscombe 11? I have no idea.

If any of you have a clue as to what it is...please reply?

Dave

It's not scale. Just a "sort of scale". Cute though.

Hey guys....here is the info on the Observer.

Flying models Magazine....07/94
Plan# CF936 Observer
R/C Scale by:McLeod A.
.20 4-stroke or electric 57" span, sport-scale version of high-wing military observation plane. 3 to 4 channel R/C system.
$9.00 plus shipping

My Observer is set up for three channels...throt, ele and rudder. For power I am using a Phasor 30/3 and 12x5 cam prop. I use two three cell 2200 D9 lipos (from United Hobbies) in parallel. At full throttle...I am pushing 40 amps. I cruise at less than half throttle.

With three channels....I can loop and roll with no problems. Doesnt like staying inverted with that dihedral...buut can be forced.

Lots of fun....

Very glad knowing what it is finally. I might add ailerons later this winter.

Here is a movie with onboard camera. Sorry I was calling ith a J3 Kitten. That was what it looked like to me when making the video.

By the way.....I put the camera on the left side of the plane. If I make right turns.....you wpould be looking at the sky. So....I kept concentrating on turning left so you can see the ground. I hope to get better at this areal photography stuff. Any suggestions would be great. I think instead of killing throttle....I may just slow up a little to keep it from jerking so bad.

I recently programmed the radio with the throttle and rudder as the slave so to adjust the rudder more right when increasing throttle. That keeps it from torqeing to the left at full throttle. In the air.....I had to trim it to the right. So....when landing....it wanted to turn right when killing throtttle. Like when the plane attacked me??? LOL!!! So....not it takes off straight and lands straight.

I hope to try the bay drop today....

Dave
