I bent a piece of piano wife to make the tail skid. I then used a cutting wheel to make a slot for the wire to insert into. The exposed wire wire was covered with a piece of balsa and I used wood stain to achieve the desired color.

Hopefully this thing will fly. If not, I might go ahead with that D-VII from the Troy Built Models website and hang this one on a string in the garage.
