New Scratch Build Complete
I just wanted to share some photos of my newest project. This plane, known as the S-3 (as its the third design in the series that began with a SPAD) was designed from scratch by me, built from sticks by me, and maidened by me. Plans were drawn with DeltaCad, printed to a PDF file with the Cutepdf printer, and printed at Staples (about $9.00 for printing)
It had its maiden flight this morning. Its approximately 50 inches long from the tip of the nose to the end of the rudder. Wing span is approximately 64 inches. Final weight 7 lbs, 6 ounces with a Magnum 91 FSR for power, turning a 14x6 APC prop.
The canopy and cowling were my first ever attempts at fiberglass molding, and they turned out great! Colors are monokote and lusterkote Metallic plum and white.
BTW, it flys like its on rails, and slows unbelievable well. I had trouble slowing it down enough to get it to come down. Wing loading is approximately 22oz. per square foot.

RE: New Scratch Build Complete
Congratulations. You must teach me how to actually finish a project.
Your model has nice lines.
I would rethink the blue on the rudder and the cowling.
Still a great looking model.
What's next?
