Scratchbuilding an Aichi Val
I am looking for a set of plans for an Aichi Val. Willing of course to pay or also trade some I have.
These are hard to fine. Thanks so much for the help. BTW An Aichi Grace would be a good substitute. For anyone interested I finally got my Royal Oscar cut entirely from Foam and Glassed.
Retracts are being made now.

RE: Scratchbuilding an Aichi Val
If you're ok with building one with a .46 here's a plan, very nice by the way and if you want it bigger just scale and modify as necessary. Good luck and keep us posted I love this bird.

RE: Scratchbuilding an Aichi Val
RCU member Baldeagle recently built one from his own drawings. I think his thread can be found right here in the scratch building forum. Not sure if he is willing to offer plans or not but it can't hurt to ask.

RE: Scratchbuilding an Aichi Val
BTW this is an OT: I have Cad drawings of a Firebrand in two sizes. 74" and 82". A friend did the design and they are made to hotwire from Foam. If anyone is interested give me a shout.
Still in the hunt for the Val. Many thanks friends.

RE: Scratchbuilding an Aichi Val
Problem solved: I found some very accurate 3 views on the net and a relative is going to scan them and put them on a CD so that the line quality of the enlargement will be crisp and not look like a drunk worm. Thanks for all the help fellows.

RE: Scratchbuilding an Aichi Val
Hey Tar heal - I had the same problem finding Val plans. Started my own on sketchup, then found a good set on Wattflyer-warbirds-page 20. (Some guy in Belgium I think).
The link is about half way down the screen "Orionrider". His plans are for a 60 size, but I'm building mine for my little os 25 w/ 48" wing. Must finish Heinkel 123 for my os 46 first.

RE: Scratchbuilding an Aichi Val
Hi everybody,
since this is an older thread, there might be no interest in the achi left?!
Iam currently building/prototyping a 1/6th d3a1 (earlier version) of the val as a cad designed wood kit. Feel free to ask and comment in my building thread here at rcu.
Cheers,
Christopher
