Default 1/8 scale brumby

Hi Guys
I plan on building a 1/8 scale brumby.
This is my first scratch build I don't know much about building models so could you answer me some questions?
Is 1/16 balsa really flexable for covering the front and back of the wings?
Any Ideas on how I would do the canopy?
Any Guidance or Ideas at all?

Thanks

Default RE: 1/8 scale brumby

I've done some planning on paper and it ends up with about 41.8 inch wing span but i wonder if this is too small for an all balsa plane?
