Default Cessna 150 Windshield

I'm building a Hostetler Cessna 150 and am having a hard time shaping the front windshield. It has a compound curve that I don't seem to able to get right even using a plug. Maybe I'm using the wrong kind of plastic (acetate) or I'm just too dumb. I would love to hear from anyone who knows how to overcome this problem. The windshield not the dumb part (that's hopeless).

Thanks for considering it,
Steve

Called Wendell and got his advice. Different type of plastic solved the problem. Thanks to everyone that read the post.

I found the plastic in the framing department at Hobby Lobby, the one that sells all the future garage sale merchandise. It's used for picture framing instead of glass or heavier plastic. It's about .010 thick and measures 24 x 24". Molds easily without heat. I was able to shape the compound curves by taping it down and working slowly around the edges with a touch of thin CA in spots to hold it while the canopy glue cures. Be careful with the CA as it will set-off and burn the plastic.
