RE: Sorrel Hiperbipe
Plans were once published full size in RC Sportsman back when it was a monthly tabloid
newsprint format. Perhaps a Stan Hines design? One was in Flying Models in the mid 70's.
(Perhaps the same plan as RC Sportsman tho...)
I think it was kitted by Master Kit. They also did the Peppermint Pattie, my fave.
The Hiperbipe is a very nice looking plane!

RE: Sorrel Hiperbipe
There was a Hiperbipe plan published in England by Radio Modeller June 78. Plan No is RM197 and is 57 inch span for a 60 engine. This plan should still be avail from www.myhobbystore.com who have all the old MAP/Argus/Nexus/Highbury/Encanta/Magicalia plans except those transferred to X-list plans
You should note that this website shows the engine size as .25 but an old plans handbook shows the same plan as a .60 engine. A .60cu inch seems more suitable for a 57 inch biplane! .25 must be an error.

RE: Sorrel Hiperbipe
I didn't know this airplane, it looks very nice. If it weren't because I have already too many projects in my head I would build one right now. I'm very much fond of original less seen modelairplanes, this is one of them so Joe if you get on it let us know. The fuselage doesn't seem to be to difficult to build, just all the windshield area maybe if you're up to a scale look, but nothing serious. Greeets
ah, here they seem to have scale drawings in case you haven't seen this yet...

Joe. I see that you are from the UK. www.myhobbystore.com have a couple of Hiperbipe plans and also list a line drawing. The 34 inch model was designed by David Boddington and a scale up to 150% would give you amodel of about 51 inch span.

RE: Sorrel Hiperbipe
Thanks for all the info given here guys, I hope to get one built in the very near future, the first thing is for me to put pencil to paper as it were, I have a winter project on the go at the moment it is an own design 84" low winger, I converted a homelite 26cc weedwacker engine and needed a test bed I found that to buy an ARTF would have been more expensive than I would have like hence the low budget design and build I am about 70% into the build and will post some pics if anyone is interested, Joe

Just got a copy of Flying Models 11/74 with the Stan Hines Hyperbipe article. 45" span, 40 two stroke. Looks like a very nice model. I imagine plans are available from Carstens Publishing. Hines says it's a good flyer.

Let me try another scan of the article. The one above is impossible to read. Specs: 5 1/4 to 5 1/2 pounds, 635 sq in, Webra 40, 10/8 power prop. Scale wing chord widened from 6 1/2 to 7". Fuse width reduced from 7 to 6 1/2.
