My project. Your opinion???
Oh :stupid: sorry...
WS - 64"
lenght - 68"
If plane wieght under 5,5 lb i use OS 61FX engine w. Zinger 14x3 wooden prop. If over 5,5 - use OS 91 FS.
Landing gear ... Hmmm... Maybe aluminium from GP Giles 202 (RIP) or 5mm wire.
Profile - eppler 479 root & tip. Stab & fin built up flat balsa.
If you interested, i'm sent plan in dxf.

Looks nice at this point, I just would make the nose a bit longer and the stab/rudder slightly smaller, but it's your design, not mine!
HOpe it works!
However, I think if you're new to 3D you should try the QHOR, only 10$ worth in materials and almost undestroyable (see the coroplast forum for details).

Uh, almost forgot, If it works send me some plans please (the email on the bottom of the post). I'm also in the process of designing a similar thing about 80" wingspan, and I'm collecting all the plans I've seen in order to collect ideas and design mine. I first wanted to make something different (twin engines, or engine in the middle of the plane, on the CG, using twin booms) but I suppose it will 3D better with the standard configuration.
Did it take you much time to build?
Standard or stronger servos?
A page with successful 3D designs (in spanish though)

Good Luck

No, thanks! QHOR is very simple to mine.
In bulding process i decrease control surfaces approx 15%.
Leading & trailing edges on stab reinforced CF in inner surfaces.
This plane designed especially for wery slow flying.
My previous mashine also had big controls, and i not have problems. Weight of this mashine is 4,6 lb and powerhouse is OS61FX w. 14x4 prop.

Yeah, I was going to tell you to put counterbalances on the elevator and rudder. Make the rudder more strait and less angled to make it more effective.
If you were to add the tips to the wing the spins would be much slower and knife edge would stink.
I would say add bigger counterbalances to elevator and even the rudder. Looks good though
