low rpm table top disc sander
For years I have used a small 4" disc sander to clean up parts I cut on band and jig saws it does not have alot of torque or hp but was fine for balsa. Now after thirty years it is having problems and I started to look for a replacement.Jarmac has a simillar unit for $178.00,I paid under $20 back then and am wondering what others use .I have a craftsman 6" disc/belt sander but it is too aggressive need to slow it down for balsa.micro mark has a !0" variable speed that is 300 -440 rpm variable speed or so but expensive,I think this is the type I would prefer does anyone know of a different source that can save me some money?

RE: low rpm table top disc sander
I have a Delta SA180 Bench Model Sander. It has a 1" wide belt and an 8" dia disk sander run by a 1/3 hp motor. Construction is all cast iron and it does a fine job when shaping balsa parts for a scratch build.
It is priced according at $95 (free shipping) from Woodworker's Source. Check the link below.
