    RE: Convert DXF to IGES.files

Most CAD programs have the ability to export in various file formats including IGES. Even the ancient version of CadKey I use has an IGES converter module.  If yours doesn't, here's a downloadable program that will do the DWG/DXF to IGES conversion...

    RE: Convert DXF to IGES.files

I am not a fan of the IGES situation. I used to receive one plan each third week which was for coversion over to an Autocad drawing. They were shipped originally in an IGES format, and quite often the lines making up teh figures do not align with one another. May have been close enough for an overlap on the plotter, but that was not good enough for Acad.

I think we wound up pulling all the way in to Acad, then exported a fixed drawing via DXF or DWG. Maybe they fixed that by now.
