Trimming soft balsa
Hi
Does anyone have any hints for trimming soft balsa without it disintegrating please
Also, any hints for trimming very small pieces away when you have to cut across the grain and it has a tendency to crush.
thanks

biggest secret is a very sharp blade. I use one of those knifes where the blade slides out of the handle, the small version. Very sharp and thinner than an Exacto blade. Made by Olfa.

Or single edged razor blades.
In truth if I'm cutting curves in very soft stuff I leave a good 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch and sand down to the final form. Even the sharpest blades can cause problems when you're dragging them sideways around a tighter curve in a cross grain cut.
