Thank you all it really means a lot..
Bill if you ever come to Greece for vacation which I recommend it, I would be more than Happy to meet you and let you feel it all you want. I do it all the time as a reminder to keep going.

I too just discovered this thread. Too cool! And as the young kids say "YO DUDE"! Very excellent work. The 1/4 scale plans are a real find. I've looked for years and have collected just about everything from 1/5 all the way down. I tried the link you listed several years ago, but "Page not Found". I've collected all the well known scale drawings, Matt, Hirsch and others, including one of unknown origin and had planned on doing what you're doing- build it! Your thread will kick me into action. I also have several in depth articles from about 40 years ago, if you want/need documentation, let me know. I have a young computer geek who can compress the drawings and articles for email. You've done some real heavy lifting with this build, and if you don't mind, I'll use all your ideas so I don't have to re-invent the wheel. I look forward to the end game. Best regards, Randy

Hey Randy thanks,
I don't mind at all anyone using ideas that could be helpfull. I'm interested in documentation because all the info I get is mostly out of photos on the internet.

One of the best 3 view drawings I have found of the H-1 is the Paul Matt drawings avail. from www.windcanyonbooks.com. This is one of my "bucket list" models when I retire. The short wing was used for closed circuit racing like Cleveland etc. and the long wing for cross country races like the Bendix.
I'm enjoying your build. Very nice work.

Thank you Kerry,
that's right it was also the last civilian aircraft that broke the speed record. The next records where broken by military aircrafts.
