Default Density of foam for wings..??

Hi all,

What density of foam would be right to build foam wings for a 40 to 60 size model, the wings wil be veneer covered. The foam readily available here is too soft i think not right to build a wing so i want to know the right density so i can order the right one.

Thanks in advance,
High

1 pound per cubic foot is the normal density. Needs to be new foam not recycled where the bead density is worse.

Here in England almost all foam wings are covered in Obeche veneer rather than balsa. Mahogany or Utile veneer is sometimes used too.
