Metric balsa available in the USA? Italy?
Just wondering if anyone knows of a supplier of metric balsa here in the States. Specifcally three, four, and six millimeter stuff. Also, anybody in Italy that can tell me what standard sizes of balsa are readily available?
TIA

Do you NEED metric wood or are you just looking at building a plan that is in metric sizing?
3mm = .118 Very close to 1/8 = .125
4mm = .157 Very close to 5/32 = .156
6mm = .236 Very close to 1.4 = .250

RE: Metric balsa available in the USA? Italy?
Thanks Limeybob but I have a planer with a sanding drum and can mill the wood down myself if necessary. I'd rather not have to of course!
BMathews, I'm working on a set of plans for a customer who lives in Italy and has requested that the design work be done in metric sizes. I was just wondering, should I decide to build one myself, if the wood was readily available to do so. Being a CAD designed airplane with lots of slot and tab type construction it would be nice to use the proper size materials. To my knowledge 5/32" balsa sheets are not standard with any of the usual range of supplyers either. Are you aware of a source per chance?
