My interest is different CAD programs and the saving of files.

Please, next time you draw an image, and save this image, check the various programs you can save a file in.

See if Illustrator is offered?

I'm curious if it's common for CAD programs to have the ability to save work/drawings in Illustrator?

Rhino 4.0 saves to *ai Adobe Illustrator

Autocad will export to .eps and .bmp

It may not be pertinent to why you are asking Charles but newer versions of Illustrator will open .dxf and .dwg files so saving out of a CAD program in .ai format is something of a moot point. Of course you may already know this and have other reasons for asking!

I already know this.

What I don't know, is the "file save as" list in other CAD programs? AI is my only interest.

Obviously, that's why I asked.

So, any other reply about anything other than that, is a reply not needed.

Solidworks will save as Illustrator...<div>
