Where is a good place to go and copy plans at 1:1 ratio or to enlarge them, and possibly get a electronic copy of the plan at 1:1

Kinkos, Officemax, Officedepot? a sign shop?

Lots of digital plans available on Outerzone, AeroFred, hippocket and others. That said, I do printing/enlarging as a side biz.

Most blueprinting shops can blow up or straight copy plans with no problem. I have one I use, in Everett Wa, that I will go back to for all my printing needs

did mine this week, self serve at FedEx. Cost about $1 per sq foot

Did it come out straight and true? from what i seen on the net a print/sigh shop with the higher end equipment prints pretty much straight and true, is kinkos with their equipment made for people coming in and out just has good?

I'll chime in and say that I have used "Hemikiller" for all of my plans needs for the last few years.
Dennis not only offers this service but he is also a modeler and therefore know exactly what is
required and expected when printing plans, being it 1:1 or enlargements, not only that he is miles
less expensive that the big store print shops,(Kinkos, Office Max & Office Depot) including the shipping.
Give him a try............you wont be disappointed.

So would it be better to get a cardboard poster shipping tube and ship it to you or do you think getting it scanned as a electronic pdf from one of these places would be good

Find a print shop the contractors use. They can also scan a drawing for you. I do a lot of business with our local company, and she will scan and email to me for free. Prints are not expensive. You can also email plans to them and they can print and mail them to you.

The biggest problem with the office supply stores is the employees, they're often under trained and over tasked to get things like this right. You might want to search around for a real blueprint shop that deals in large format printing all day long. You'll have the best chance there to get a true scan.

If you want to save yourself the hassle and want it done right the first time, send them to me. Most of my customers find that even with the shipping. my costs are quite competitive to the mouth breather at the office supply store.

Hemikiller is the GUY. Period.

Although I don't know why you'd want to kill a Hemi. Ha Ha.

He's the only printer I use for my building plans.

I've used Hemikiller also. Before I sent him the drawings to enlarge, I drew a 12 in long line both horizontally and vertical. The enlarged plans were perfect in both directions. I will use his services again.
