Well it feels like building season is fast approaching so I thought I would beat the rush and get an early start. ;)

The plane of choice for this season is a Fairey Junior (1/4 Scale). Purchased plans from RCM a couple years back. Designed by, Dennis Tapsfield,

80" span, 1420 sq. in., .90-1.20, 4 ch., built-up balsa, plywood, and hardwood

The Fairey Junior first hit the seen in 1948. http://www.tipsy-histories.com/site/OO-ULA.htm

A couple of pics to show progess so far....The wing chord is 18" [X(]

RE: Fairey Junior
The Junior is slowly coming together. I've been posting the progress on RC Canada but plan on posting on RC Universe for as well
Hope everyone's building season is going smoothly;)

Well the Junior is finally covered and ready for paint. Going to use latex paint and seal with polyurethane (satin)

Landing gear and cowl are next.

RE: Fairey Junior
Thanks andrew66,

I will be using a GF26i CRRC gas engine. Hope to have her up before the snow flies. ;)

RE: Fairey Junior
Hi, How about a few more details like what is the covering you have used, what motor are you going to use.
You will be really pleased with the flying of this model.
I have a 20yr old 1/3rd scale which "was" powered by an Enya 120 but now is going through an engine transplant to an OS 120 FC series 2 motor.

RE: Fairey Junior
The covering I used is Worldtex...fantastic stuff....just don't make a mistake.....peeling this stuff off takes wood with it[:@]

I am glad to hear someone has flown one of these aircraft. With that huge wing cord it looks like a floater;)

Going gas with this one

RE: Fairey Junior
Well I've been busy working & fitting in a little flying this season but did manage to squeeze in making the landing gear mains for this airplane. Looks like I will be making the cowl and painting this building season ;)

RE: Fairey Junior
Hi Joe,

I alos have a Fairey Junior which I have flown first with an old Enya 80 4-stroke which perhaps gave scale performance but there was certainly not much uumph left over. I have switched this year to an OS 90 4-stroke and the difference is remarkabel. Aerobatics are now possible. I plan to recover it this winter and would like to do scale colours. What colour scheme are you planning on using.
