GP Silhouette on Floats
I know it's not a classic float plane but it's sure alot of fun to fly. Flys well too. I thought the GWS floats might be a little small but they work just fine. Check out the video.

RE: GP Silhouette on Floats
Thanks for the kind words. The Silhouette made a much better floatplane than I had ever imagined. Because it’s so light it doesn’t have the realistic takeoffs and landings of my Sig 1/5 scale cub but is a lot more relaxing to fly. Link the video to your site if you like. I got most of my float plane know how from there.

After I saw the video we communicated via email about your set up. I followed your suggestions and just completed a local weekend float fly. This plane is a pure kick to fly on or off water. It handles just like your video shows.
The guys watching said it was like watching an insect buzzing around the pond.
Thanks for sharing your tips.

I was so impressed by the video in this thread I had to do my own floats conversion - see fly it here in 720HD : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oH2VzVHMLb8

Thanks guys - the Silhouette is now one of my favorite floatplanes
The video below is a " how to add floats to the Silhouette step by step guide" if someone is interested in doing the same conversion.
