Default Cross brace wires

I have installed cross brace wires on my floats and was concerned about them rubbing together and causing radio interference. Any experience out there? Should I wrap the intersections with copper wire and solder them together?

Default Cross brace wires

My inclination is to always avoid any metal to metal that can vibrate although that far away there is probably little chance of sufficient RF noise generation to cause a problem. If it were me I would just wrap those pupies and solder. And you would end up with a little stiffer installation anyway.

Default Cross braces

I just put a little dielectric grease on mine. Insulates them and doesn't wash off in the water.

Cheers!

Default kevlar wires

I used kevlar cable instead of wire just to be safe.. Went to the fibreglass store and bought a 1yd lengh of kevlar cloth, then you pull the strands out...twist them together with a drill....then mount them and run a dab of resin along them to keep them all stiff and together...The thickness all depends on how many strands you twirl together...

A 1yd X 1yd piece makes alot of cable!! and its cheaper to

Default Cross brace wires

Thanks for all the ideas. I soldered the intersections today. Figured it was the easiest and quickest way at this stage. Thanks again........Seaplane
