Who makes scale Edo floats?
Hi Guys,
I'm building a 1/5th scale (77") Ziroli Stearman and I'd like to put it on a nice set of scale Edo floats. (See the attached pic.) Who makes quality scale Edo floats? I'm assuming that 44 to 45 inchers would be appropriate for my 59 inch fuselage. (The 75% of the fuselage length rule applies to biplanes too doesn't it?)

I email Sea Commander several time with no response. I wanted to include a float option on my 1:4 SR-9. They had some nice size strut fairings that would have worked well on my 1:8 scale Dornier Do-24T. But alas !!!!

Thanks Guys! Maybe Sea Commander will resurface or someone will pick up their inventory and continue on. Unfortunately, Balsa USA only makes floats in 1/4 and 1/3 scale. I need 1/5.

I am still looking! AND hoping!! LOL,because I have found nothing!!! Looking for drawings for them are hard, and the proper size is so important to balance the A/C in the water as well as in flight!!!

Well 1/5 what? He calls those 18% Beaver that close to 5th scale for that plane. I bet they'd look fine on that size Stearman
Shoot the guy an email, since it's CAD and laser cut, maybe he can cut a set slightly smaller for you,, you'd have to tinker with the pre made fiberglass parts or use wood for that area, but that wouldn't be to hard to modify.

Thanks for chiming in. I've been looking at your website this morning . I THINK I need a set of 44-inchers but I need to measure the plans again before I'll know for sure.

You keep saying that,, but a 1/5 scale Stearman Float isn't the same as a 1/5th scale Cub Float,, the Balsa USA size/scale (and many others) are based on their Cub kits.

OK, I see where you're going with this,,
Most available kits are just basic wood built up floats,, you can add as much scale detail as you want to make them look scale to your plane,, add more or fewer rivet line rows etc.
