    48" BJ Foam Floats Build

Well, it's time to replace my old 1/4 scale Balsa USA floats due to rot on my H9 Super Cub. I built them using the H9 scale float hardware so I will have to use some of the custom parts I made for the wood floats and incorporate them in the foam floats. I will be putting a 1/4" thick spine down the top of the float and adding the strut boxes into the spines. They will then get covered with balsa on the top and sides with 1/64th ply on the bottoms. They with then get glassed and painted with Klass Kote.

Wow! Where did yu find a set of BJfloats? They have not been produced for at least 10 years!
My first set of floats were BJs, and I have sworn by foam-core floats ever since.

    RE: 48

    Hi Jim,
I actually bought them here on RCU. I bought 3 pairs of floats as a package. I have a smaller set of BJ's that came with no wood, this set that came with wood, and a set of 1/4 scale blue foam flat bottom floats very nicely made (not sure of who made those). I sold those to a friend for a nice Sig Clipped wing cub with a OS 120 twin. Should be real nice with those when my friend gets it on the water.
