Retracts in 60 inch floats
I will be attempting to add working retracts in a pair of large Sea Commander floats shortly. Does anyone here have experience with doing that. Wendell Hostetler has drawings on his site, but it looks very far from being scale. I am looking to do something that is good enough to compete in scale contests.
Thanks

RE: Retracts in 60 inch floats
There was a discussion here last June on amphib floats:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Cub%..._630968/tm.htm
Someone has nice line drawings of the retracts at their site, I seem to recall that it was http://www.climatemodels.com , but I didn't see anything on a quick browse a minute ago.
There are other threads, but this one was recent.
Nice Cessna (??)

Bill,
The Cessna is going to be my next project. I think the Caravan Amphib is the coolest thing with wings... Unfortunately, I have found very little information about it. A plastic model would be nice, but have not found one yet.
But, my 60" floats are for another project in order to determine if a scale amphib can be done.

That thread on amphibious floats will be a good start. I'm sure you'll get more feedback on this.
Bob Banka's would be a good palce to start for photos and 3-views: http://www.bobsairdoc.com/ . A search on Google on "cessna caravan" (with quotes) will turn up more info. And I'm sure that there are plastic models of the Caravan. I recall seeing websites on plastic models, I can't find the addresses now.
You may want also to post an inquiry about the Caravan in the Scale Section if there isn't a big response here.
Good luck!
