Default Duraplane 40 on Floats

I've been reading the posts and thought I would share my plane. I found the floats at a local hobby store. They are foam that I covered in 1/32" balsa, sanded, then monokoted.

The hobby store didn't have a water rudder so I extended the front landing gear down with piano wire and soldered a copper rudder to it. Kind of cheezy especially if there is any significant wind.

The plane is a little heavier but still flies great. I didn't know if the OS .40 engine would have enough power but it does.

Today I found a real water rudder and will be installing it soon.
