I Think you would be better off with the 90 sizes RVC or 120... the model recommends 90-120..4-stroke.... I have a 90 OS 4-strk in mine and it is enough power but I wouldn't want to go less....If You can afford the extra $ for the larger displacement, go with one of them....
Let us know how it goes... I have always wanted to try one of these engines

RE: engine for unioville turbo beaver
Welcome to the 8 ft Beaver club.
I had an OS .60 2 stroke in mine. mounted at 90 degrees, with a pitts muffler.
It flew great with wheels! but it had to struggle with the floats. talk about scale flight! LOL.
I am now flying it with a Saito .91 Golden Knight 4 stroke mounted inverted. It sounds great,
flies and runs even better. and if you want to wring the plane out it is capable of doing almost anything you want it to do. I can get over 1/2 hr. per tank flight time. swinging a 14x7 three blade MAS prop. the 4 stroke doesn't sound like a powersaw flying around, and at part throttle on a flyby you can even hear the wind swish past the plane.
If you want to set it up for Both wheels and floats? I can post some pics to help you out.
it takes about 10 minutes to convert mine back and forth. Also I strongly recomend going with the flap installation. You won't regret it.
You can click on my [gallery] button to see some more photo's of it. mine uses 7 servo's
2 flaps, 2 ailerons, 1 rudder, 1 elevator, 1 throttle.
Good luck.
Smoky.

I would like some pics of how you built your t beaver to convert it to floats and wheels. I got some pics of using robart pin hinges for the flaps and ailerons. And I also have an advantage as the Air Taxi that I fly for has a wipline piston beaver so i can look at it to get my flaps and ailerons as close to scale

RE: engine for unioville turbo beaver
Raptor here is some pic of the removable LG
Build the fushlage as showen. Make a 1/4 ply bottom for the cover, Glue your LG block to the 1/4 bottom ply<Use good ply here>with the slots faceing the fushalage. This way you can remove the LG and put thecover back on for floats. The cover plate is held on with 6/32 bolts. Put your bolts close to the LG wire. Add formers and a filler block for the LG bolts. I used pine.
Hope this helps.

RE: engine for unioville turbo beaver
these show installing the floats.
Mine uses the same landing gear straps for the second and 3rd float struts. then screw the cover back on over top. the 1st and 4th float struts use the mounting points just behind the cowl and at the rear of the cabin area. hope this helps.

forgot one. this shows the 1st monting point, and 2nd and 3rd under the cover and the 4th point
at the rear.
The last photo shows what it looks like with the wheels on.
Note these photo's we're taken with the 2 stroke OS 61.
notice the small prop. LOL I now have the bigger set up installed.

Very happy with a ST90 in mine. Full throttle is used only for takeoff. Some pictures here [link=http://rcalbum.rchomepage.com/Home.html]Pictures[/link] about half way down on the left. It's been a while since I was here last and may be repeating myself, forgetery being what it is
