Default catalina plans

I'm looking to build a catalina from the plans advertised in RC Magazine. Does anybody have any experience with this model/plans. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have the magazine from the 70's and it appears to be quite straight forward. After rereading the article I got all enthused, but I have too many things going already.

I also have the July 1976 issue of RCModeler which has the construction article for this plane. Thought of building it but my son surprised me with a kit.
You can also look at a kit made by HVP Modell. This kit is almost exactly the same size as the one in magazine.
