Floats for Stik Airplane
I have a Stik airplane that I am wanting to put on floats I have tried to fly my LT 40 off of the water and had pretty good luck with the exception of the water rudder the floats I had the rudder was a aluminum rudder that was installed through the port float and hung down about 1 1/2 in below the float it got tangled upp in all sorts of weeds and mud when taxing I am looking for a set of fiberglass floats that have the v-bottom with kick up water rudder the plane measures 46" in length and powered by a OS 46 FX. hopefully there is someone out there that makes a set of floats that are preassembled and ready to install
Another question has anyone tried the Cessna ARF I have tread about in the RC Modeler magazine

They make some well-regarded plastic floats. you need floats around 32" long for a .40-size plane.
Or find GeeBee floats. They are NOT well regarded, but they are easy to mount.
The water rudder should not stick down any more than the height of the step. If it's in the water on your takeoff run, it is likely to be more "run" than "takeoff". The WR should really be in the water only when you taxi.

I have used the Falcon Trading Co floats and they work fine. They have a sliding mounting block that can be screwed in place any where you want it.
If you want foam core floats, you can try the ones from Niagara Custom Model Products at [link]http://www.foamcorefloats.com[/link]. They build up very light and being foam, they can't leak.
