Or it would if RCU didn't insist on converting part of the URL to a smiley.
At least the photo works

RE: Sea Twin
Phil:Hi,trying to find the plans for that sea twin RCM doesn't show that number at all!I remember seeing it not to many years back in the mag too.Looks like a neat plane also liked that Douglas Dolphin they have in there.Think a twin sea plane would be real neat but am lazy how about and ARF?Could a fellow use these plans to one of those outfits that advertise cutting out the planes?Should save lot of fiddling.Looks like no one had tried it though for that sea twin!Bob Moodie

RE: Sea Twin
Bob,
RCU messed up the link above since part of the URL contains a smiley code. This page has a link to the plans. The Sea Twin is second from the bottom.
http://www.rcmmagazine.com/e/env/000...ns-list-6.html
No doubt you could send the plans to one of the kit-cutter guys, but the cutting generally doesn't take all that long compared to the rest of the job. The ARF way would be to buy one of the pylon type ARFs and install the nacelles and engines. One of my club members did this with some success.
You'll see some pictures towards the bottom.

RE: Sea Twin
Found it this time first time tried the number but got nothing and it wasn't shown in there list either.Am I just a cheap skate or does $21 seem like a lot for a plan.I like that Dolphin too as it has close mounted engines shouldn't be as bad in the event of a engine failure. That big one takes lot of spacve to transport too!

RE: Sea Twin
Hi Phil Yes iI have built a Sea Twin. I had the plans reduced 20% to approx, 72 " wing span. The engines are OS 46 . I have two servos one in each engine pod for throttle control. I'm using on board ignition for start up and it is set up to turn off at approx 1/3 throttle . I have not flown it yet but did an extensive taxie and near t/o runs. The plane is great on water .gets up on step right now. I intend to fly it this week.

What's the process to shrink the plans? I currently have a Twin-Air with O.S .46's and would like to try a Sea Twin with a 72" wingspan.

RE: Sea Twin
I went to KINCKO {may not be spelled right} and they can reduce/enlarge just about anything. They charge by the foot. I think I paid about $7.00 for 2 plans[ the complete set consists of 2sheets, one fuse other wing /tail] The process is all electronic and accurate.

RE: Sea Twin
I'm building an 80% Sea Twin (RCM plans) with a few modifications. I added a "V" hull to the lower front section of the fuselage and would like to go with nacelles similar to the ones on my Twin-Air. I made a mold for fiberglass cowls on my Northeast Aerodynamics Twin-Air so I had better access to the engines. The engines wing and stab will all be 0-0-0 (incidence, side thrust, and upthrust). The Twin-Air nacelles, however, will move the engines about 1.5-2" further forward. Assuming the correct CG, will this create any problems with flight characteristics?

RE: Sea Twin
I am building one!
I have the fuselage together, one half of the wing together and the tail surfaces together!
But I am in the process of moving so I won't be working on it for a couple of months.
Phil, Did you ever dive in to a seaplane project?

RE: Sea Twin
Does anyone know of a good fairly large 72" or so flying boat type arf. I could be a little smaller. Don't really know what I want. I'm really new to the sport. Thanks!

RE: Sea Twin
Where do I find the thunder tiger seamaster? I tried to quicktech.com for the neptune and it wouldn't come up. I have a set of floats to put on my nexstar trainer but thought the flying boat might be a little more forgiving on landing. The Falcon planes are nice but are very expensive. Thanks for all your help!
