Try contacting Sturla Snorrason, http://pby-catalina.com/
His plans have some good details on the retracts.

Wildcat landing gear works about the same. If you could find some appropriately scaled that might serve you well.

Re: landing gear diagrams for the PBY..I have been researching this also..Century Jet makes some for a 170 inch version..check their website. Also, I found some diagrams of the real gear..I could scan and email them if you want..let me know.

oops..forgot..if you want I can relocate the website where I found these diagrams and provide that. Silly me..there is also info about the wing including a plan showing the entire layout. I just realized the rear of the wing is fabric covered as well as the control surfaces! Learn something new every day!

Hello..

Here are 2 sites..the first is Century Jet, showing the gear they make for the 170 inch version. The second site is plans for a pby. You can download the photos and enlarge the gear portions, then print them off. I used Paint Shop Pro to get what I needed. I also have some drawings of the real thing, but I forgot to bookmark the site so it will take a bit to relocate it.

Guardian..

By the way..I get the impression you are building a PBY-5 or similar..I'm in the planning stages of one..I have some plans for a 108" version but I think I may go up to 170..not sure yet. Gotta build my b-24 first, since I didn't sell it. Anyway, would you mind exchanging build info? sure would be interesting.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi guys-

I am looking into a Conachen PBY kit (170" w/s). I spoke with Jim about the gear for his kit. he mentioned a Likes Line retract set-up. Any ideas? He also STRONGLY suggested that unless I was going to use it on land, not to put retracts in it since it does open up the hull to possible water leaks. If all goes as planned I can see one of these kits getting started after the first of the year. If you have started yours, let me know.

Thanks!

Hi..

Still in the planning stages here, will be working on the water tight issue in the near future. I am just a bit concerned about watching a multi-thousand dollar airplane sink out of sight!

Should be a solution, I would think.. the real one floated didn't it?

Jim
