Well, I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring.Here are some pics of my latest creation. It is a 1/4 scale Anderson KingFisher loosely built and highly modified from Dennis Tapsfield plans. It weighs 16.5 lbs and has a Saito 1.82 TTDD twin for power with on-board glow. Custom built mechanical retracts and retractable water rudder. Nav lights are operational. Many, MANY thanks to Kevin R who patiently answered thousands of my questions about the plane and provided a bunch of photos.

Sky, looks magnificent! Great job . . . have you flown it yet? We have had one at our water plane meet and it has been around just about every member because we cant get it to fly and its always in need or repair, it just seems to be so unstable not matter what you do with it . . .

Still yours looks lovely! Well done, excellent finish.

ByLoudDesign, Can you post your Do24 build? I have been wanted to build a 72" Do24 for ages, I have picked up some 3 vues but dont have a way to get them scaled correctly? I have 3 os.15's available for the project - build it light about 6.5lbs and it would fly great . . . any body able to scale these?

(I have the full size pics they are slightly larger, oh thanks for the web site for sharing)

I have very detaild 6-view that is available for $50.00US, with the undestanding that it is for personal use and will not be shared. I have about 200 hours just in the drafting of the 6-view, not to mention the hours and hours of research! The Dornier Do-24 site www.Dornier24.com gave me many documents and drawing to help me get them correct

May i ask why only 72", It will be pretty hard to design it that small. My design is 1:8 at 132.625", outer section remove at the outboard side of the nacelles at just under 44" of width, which is the same width of the horizontal Stab.

Thanks Siddus 74 for the kind words. Make sure the wing and engine incidences are correct. I have 3.5 degrees of positive on the engine and 2.5 positive on the wing. There's an additional 2 degrees of washout on the tips. My KF has a roll out of about 20' under full throttle ROG and maybe 100' on water. The Saito 1.82 twin really yanks it into the air but flies at 1/4 throttle for scale flight.

They have a great customer service program and were very helpful. The pilots are from [link=http://www.premierpilots.net/]Premier Pilots[/link](also available at inZpan). Ren Di leo is a great guy to deal with. The engine nacelle parts are fiberglass laid up in a mold that I made to fit the engine.

Here are some picts from last weekend at a lake in Southern Arizona. Had a great time.... This cub and engine is new; still flight testing so there is no cowl on the front. It is the 1/4 scale H9 Cub and floats with Saito 180.
