Default Lake Casitas Float Fly - by Comets Club

I see there's a float fly this coming weekend at Lake Casitas in Ventura. Never been to that field. How is it and who else is going ?? I met some nice people from the Comets Club at the Lake Parris float fly earlyer this year. Also hope the weather stays nice.

I end up going to that one twice a year, even though I crashed my Fleet on floats last fall there. I get to fly Richard Sniders planes. they have great Tri-tip BBQ for lunch each day. the camping is the best. some people get there Friday afternoon and set up there spot and stay all weekend. the club members are all great, they are very good at retrieving planes with out breaking off all the scale stuff. you fly facing west so the sun is not in your eyes untill the late afternoon. then it goes behind the mountain and that is when it is the best time to fly! the partying that goes on saturday night at the site is more than I can say here. I have got to get my Kingfisher done!

Scale dail, Did you fly Richard S. plane's a few weeks ago at Lake Castaic ?? If R.S. is the one the owns and built that "yellow" plane. + the orange Bipe ? Man that guy can build a plane... unreal. And by the way if you were flying them...... Nice job. I liked the inverted circle in the pattern 5 ft off the water the most.[sm=thumbup.gif].

had enough, great vid's. Sorry you can't make it.

You should see what he is building now! a 120" Canidair CL-415. he's not into scale detail but his planes are usually the most impressive at the float fly's. he would not have it any other way!

The Comets did a great job and I sure know I had a great time. The weather was awsome all weekend. The flying area the Comets have there at Casitas is just beautiful.
Here's a few shot's of the weekend events.
1. Marilyn Nash... What a fun gal to be around!!! Thanks Marilyn.
2. "Got Milk" Dave G...... Very nice guy, and great flyer.
and a few misc. shots.

Thanks again to all the Comets

Oscar Weingart, although the spelling might be off. Nice airplane too.
