I asked before but no-one said anything so I thought I would try again. Are there any seaplane clubs/bases in the boston area? In MA at all? Would love to know.

I would search for a regular air field and inquire there as to a local place where they do float flying in your area. I would guess that some of those flying there are also float flyers.
