Default Washout

A friend of mine was looking at my KMP Beaver, he noticed it had no washout on the wings.

Is this the norm for KMP Beavers?

Should I put some in it? Heat and twist.

Should I let it go and Fly?

How does everybodys else Beaver Fly?

Is it a hand full?

Forgiving?

Thanks for Advice

Default RE: Washout

Hi Goldfinger

It is a great plane to fly and does not need washout at all. Remember when you deploy those flaps you have instant wash out in the wing. I have the floats but have yet to get the chance to fly it from water. I am using a Saito 180, but really think that a gasser would be the best. Given the the tank location inside the plane you need to lower it below the pre installed tank floor.. My engine is inverted.

Hope that helps you, and yes it is very forgiving.

Thanks Dan,

I have not installed floats yet, I was taxing around the grass runway and wanted to see how quick the tail would come up, I give it to much elevator and not enough speed, she lifted and dropped the right wing, I recovered quickly with left aileron. I did no damage. Than got to taxi around pretty fast and did a quick turn , the tail wheel broke off(cheap china metal) and the wire landing gear bent.
I am going to fabricate all new aluminium landing gear and make tail wheel out of 1/8" piano wire.

I have installed ZDZ 40 with custom built muffler, it sounds good and looks good.

When the flaps are not engaged, does the plane have any bad habits?
