RE: RT Models - Canadair Build
[8D] Hi Sid, We meet again! Beautiful job! You're lucky you got your hands on this kit. Beldone models, a Canadian company has since gone out of business. Did you purchase this kit through Canada? Kit looks like it went together fairly well. I'm trying to find a source for this plane in the US, but so far have not had much luck. 2 Canadian companies produce the kit. www.mraerodesign.ca makes one, but it is huge, costs $440.00 for the complete kit. Also, www.kmp.ca makes one with an all fiberglass fuselage, something very desirable in flying boats as they are less likely to leak. I don't know, will have to think about this one.
Carry on.
Carry on.

RE: RT Models - Canadair Build
Freddy,
I ordered the kit from RTModels, but I strongly advise against it as they striped my credit card 3 timess then took 8 months to deliver the kit and the wood was of shocking quality . . .
Just tried there website and it looks like they packed in - there is a massive thread about people being ripped off by these people, however using the 'webarchive service' you can see what the web page used to look like > > >

I have a source for the plans only here (they are of excellent quality - best I have seen) > > > [link=http://www.kionastore.com/plan-1070.html]http://www.kionastore.com/plan-1070.html[/link]
I also confirmed that the plan was indeed be Anton Elsele > > >
I ordered the plans as well because I didnt think I would ever receive the kit so I have an untouched set as well now.
YES the plan was made by Anton Elsele so it is the right plan. We are printing it today and will have it in the mail by monday. If you have anymore questions just let me know.
Best Regards,

RE: RT Models - Canadair Build
[8D] Thanks for the heads up Sid! I was hoping I could find a well made kit for the CL-415 as I just don't have the time to do a scratch built plane from plans. kmp.ca and mraerodesign.ca are options.

Glassing repairs done , the repaint can wait I feel . . . The increase in strength is quite unbelievable - I could take this down the pond now and be totally confident it would not take on any water. I swear by the fibertech finishing epoxy . . .
