Sikorsky S-39
Hi all!
I started a new project, Sikorsky S-39
The specs are:
W/S 65 inch
Engine used Enya 53 FS (to be upgraded to a SAITO 100 TD later on)
Estimated weight = 3.5 - 4 Kg - 7 - 8.8 Lbs
The subject is Sports scale. (Not 100% with some minor deviations for ease of flight etch).
Posted are some pics showing the beginning of the project.
Regards

RE: Sikorsky S-39
My Plans are Scratch build.
I saw the RC plans and they are very close to the original S-39 with some small diviations.
I have used some of the construction methods of the RC Mag, other then that the wing will be a 3 peace wing and the main gear will come off so I can use it in the water ....
Will keep you posted.

RE: Sikorsky S-39
looks like you are missing a pair of struts at the back where the boom cross brace is...they go down to the rear fuse just above the tailwheel. You must have had great fun with the other 27 struts, getting everything all lined up at the correct angles etc etc.......

Cap'n Yak:
Great job.
I think you'll find the Enya to be the engine of choice. I saw one of these done as an electric a couple of years ago, and whatever had been chosen as a power system was not adequate. This design seems to like lots of power for takeoff, as the one I observed never did.
