Red face New Northstar

New Northstar scratch built by Bob Edwards in Mansfield, OH. It is six cell powered with an 11X11 APC pattern prop. She puts out about 1000 watts of power. Servos and radio powered with two cell lipo. Painted and covered with Hobby King covering. Awesome building job, can't wait to test fly this weekend.

Congratulation. I am glad that you had fun with the NS. In last thirty years I built number of them. I am enclosing photos of my latest one. Same model as a original with some cosmetic changes. The model is powered by AXI 4120/18, 6S (3Sx2) 5000mA LiPos.

The gear is removable for flying from water.

my first northstar was glow and I flew it for several years. I just wore that one out! I think it makes a much better electric plane and I really enjoy flying this one.

video shot from the event. The audio will fade in and out as I muted when we were having a conversation.

the first part of the video is when the battery lead fell off. cold solder joint on the connector. thank goodness that i put a separate flight pack in on all of my high performance and large electric airplanes. it saved the norhstar that day!
