Thanks for the comments Jim. Yeah, it would be nice if someone would keep this design alive. It's a great performer. I know when he went out of production a year or so ago, RCReport noted that he was looking for someone to buy the biz. Never heard anything more.

How about posting the dimensions of your Sea Cruiser.
Wing: Span & Chord
Stab: Span & chords
Fuselage: Overall length, nose length, rear fuselage length, height, step location
Fin dimensions
Pod: Height above wing, length, width, height.
I have a buddy, Flaps Laffert, who can draw the plans.

RE: Pics of my Sea Cruiser II (.40 Size)
I still have a kit of this plane untouched other than the plans are hanging on the wall providing inspiration everytime I go into the shop. I could take them down to a local copy shop with an engineering copier and have a few sets run off. If there is enough interest I'll inquire as to the costs. It will only be my cost plus a nominal shipping charge. Any takers out there?
I must warn you however that the original drawings are not very good, (blue print) and are quite amateurish (sp?). There are no assembly instructions other than what is on the plans so it is not a project for beginning builders.
I don't think there would be a copyright violation since the company is no longer producing the kit.

Hi PeterC,
Well I could be interested by your plans indeed. However, how would I pay you for that ? Moreover, copy costs might be very high, as I've already tried to have some plans copied too. It was cheaper to buy another set ... But in, our case, these plans are collectables !! you can bother asking, yes, anyway... Do you speak french btw ?

Sorry no, I don't speak French, I'm in western Canada and except for a few communities it's pretty much all English out here. Copy costs are not that bad, I have had some done of a similar size and they were in the $15 Cdn range. You could pay with an International Money Order so that would be no problem. The expensive part would probably be postage but I would only charge the actual costs plus the shipping envelope. I doubt if it would exceed $25 Cdn total. You can think about this for a while as I am going on holidays soon and won't be back until around the end of August.
The same applies to anyone else contemplating a set of drawings, cost of duplicating plus postage etc. I'll let you know the actual duplicating costs before I do anything.
Peter

Ok thanks a lot Peter. I'll go figure how to make an international money order, and if it's possible (that still seems difficult, but i'll try), then I will be very pleased by your kind offer.
Oh and too bad for the french speakers out there. I feel this language is slowly disappearing from Canada .
Have nice holidays !

Strykass,
Please don't send any money yet. I will have to find out the exact costs and I will let you know via a PM. I am going to be away for a while so I won't be able to get to it until the end of the month.
I notice ;you live in Paris, I visited there many years ago, a very beautiful city with much charm and character. I stayed in a tiny hotel on Isle de Cite (pardon any spelling errors). Hotel du St. Louis.
As to the French Language, it is still doing well in Quebec and other French communities throughout Canada. My only objection to French is that the language is legislated in Quebec and must appear dominant over English (or any other language for that matter) on signs. I feel that if something is worthwhile it will survive regardless. (Language police). Reminds me of Nazi Germany. My other objection is that when I am looking for products at the grocery store the French side of the label seems to always be to the front.
These are just my opinions and do not reflect those of many other Canadians. Some are much more opinionated.
Cheers,
Peter

Sorry I do not have a video of my SeaCruiser II in flight. Wish I did! I can't say enough about this plane - it is a great flyer - and also handles great on the water. Plans building one will be quite labor intensive, but the result will be worth it. I have copied my plans. It cost me $7 US for the copy and about $5 to ship. There was instructions, but I have lost mine. I have my addendum to the instructions tho'.
I wouldn't overpower the plane - it handles great with a light powerplant. I fly mine with a 40 FP and it requires no more. Performance is great!
Set up your keywords in RCU Market for SeaCruiser. A guy just sold 2 kits for $100 ea. I should have put a post on here that they were for sale. I didn't have the cash or I would have scooped them up myself!

Hi Rudy,
I just returned from my trip to the coast so will check out prices beginning of next week. GSU's price seems very reasonable so I will not be offended if you get them through him. If it dosen't work out let me know.

PeterC,
I am afraid I won't be able to make an international money order. It's incrcedibly not possible from here [:@] without paying major fees.
Thanks for the offer anyway.
Maybe with a good set of close pictures, I could try to scratch build one ?
I count on you all !

RE: Pics of my Sea Cruiser II (.40 Size)
Hello Sea Cruiser II fans.
I am from the home club of the designer, Bill Johnson, who just put out a run of the kits and I got one. The wood is perfect, the cutting excellent and the hardware is U.S. and good brands. The plans are pretty good if you have the builders book. My plane except for the wing is ready for covering. I plan Sig Koverall and Krylon paint. Power is to be an OS .46XA. So far so good.
Although he no longer advertises, he is an active flyer and brings the kit back every once in a while. The plans remain copyrighted. If he gets enough orders one might convince him to make another run. He also may have some left from the last run where I got mine. This was about 5 weeks ago. This is a very good kit. While the plans are OK for assemble with the book I think there may be problems cutting parts using them, especially for the formers but there are also some other precut parts that cannot be cut using the plans alone.

That's great news hwmcadoo!!
I agree with you about plans building one. There's a ton of weird shaped parts.
I just flew mine last weekend up north on a beautiful lake. My daughter got some great in-flight shots. Will start a new thread with them as soon as I get them off the camera. The engine noise had all the neighbors out on their docks wondering what was up, then they got an air-show. Also will fly it at our float fly Friday.
