Default Duckster seaplane from RCM

The July 1997 issue of RCM has a neat looking 60 inch seaplane on the cover called the "Duckster". No construction article....just a brief reference to the builder Charlie Scholeno from NY state. Has anyone seen any plans?

Is this a Laddie Mikulasko design? It looks to be half Laker, half Northstar.

Also looks a little like a Spectra from RCM plans that I'll be starting soon. I agree with Jim that it and the Spectra are a lot like the North Star. I met Laddie last year at a float fly and my wife fell in love with his Canadian Bug (looks like a dragon fly) that is now an ARF by Morse Hobbies. She got the plans from RCM and has just started it......Seaplane

The brief description inside the magazine cover says "original design by Charlie Scholeno"...he is the guy on the cover. I was expecting a construction article (since the plane is featured on the cover) but there is nothing other than the description and photo.

Digressing but curious: Why is his face obliterated in the pic you posted?

Cuz I don't have his permission to post his picture (or the magazine cover for that matter) .... It's been a long time since the magazine was published and for all I know he's in the witness protection program by now ...that's why I wear sunglasses (see avatar)
